Excursion to Beyerdynamic and Fraunhofer FKIE
As part of a joint excursion, the employees of IKS had the opportunity to visit two organizations from the fields of industry and research.
The first stop was Beyerdynamic in Heilbronn. The IKS team was given a behind-the-scenes look at the manufacturing of headphones—from the delicate membrane to the finished product. Particularly impressive were the precise production steps, many of which are still carried out by hand, as well as the rigorous quality controls implemented throughout the entire manufacturing process.
The second stop took the group to Fraunhofer FKIE in Wachtberg. Researchers from both institutes presented selected projects in the areas of communication, information processing, and security. A key focus of the visit was the direct exchange of ideas, including discussions on topics such as audio forensics and active noise cancellation (ANC) for drones.
