Dr.-Ing. Marc Adrat studied electrical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University from 1992-1997 with a focus on "General Electrical Engineering" and a degree in "Diplom-Ingenieur". His dissertation, written in 2003 at the Institute of Communication Systems and Data Processing (IND), focused on iterative source and channel decoding. In 2005, Dr. Adrat joined the Research Establishment for Applied Sciences (FGAN), which in 2009 became the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE). There he is the head of the research group for the topic Software Defined Radio. Since 2009 he has been teaching at the RWTH in the field of channel coding and modulation.
