Presentation at RWTH Talk Lehre

On June 20, 2022 in the SuperC of the RWTH the twelfth edition of the Talk Lehre workshop took place. After two online events, this year's workshop was again be held in a face-to-face format.

The content focus is on RWTH as a digitally operating face-to-face university. By means of a poster exhibition, Maximilian Kentgens and Dr. Christiane Antweiler presented their contribution entitled "Digital Teaching in the Practical Course "Real-Time Audio Processing?" -  a best practice example in the area of digital teaching.

In the lab "Real-Time Audio Processing", students work in groups through all phases of a complete product development cycle - from brainstorming and initial MATLAB prototypes to a real-time demo implemented in C++ with audio signal processing on a mobile platform. This is due to a portable working environment that covers all phases of the development cycle. After two introductory sessions in presence, it enables the students to carry out their own project in small teams, flexibly in terms of time and location on their own computers. The workflow of a development project as well as tools and methods for distributed software development represent essential learning objectives of the lab. In this sense, students learn to work with appropriate tools in spatially distributed teams, which is a frequently occurring requirement in the modern working world.
