Dr.-Ing. Marc Adrat studierte von 1992-1997 Elektrotechnik an der Rheinisch-Westfälischen Technischen Hochschule (RWTH) in Aachen mit dem Schwerpunkt "Allgemeine Elektrotechnik" und dem Abschluss "Diplom-Ingenieur". Seine 2003 am Institut für Nachrichtengeräte und Datenverarbeitung (IND) verfasste Dissertation beschäftigte sich mit der iterativen Quellen- und Kanal-Decodierung . 2005 wechselte Dr. Adrat zur Forschungsgesellschaft für Angewandte Naturwissenschaften (FGAN), die in 2009 zum Fraunhofer-Institut für Kommunikation, Informationsverarbeitung und Ergonomie (FKIE) wurde. Dort ist er Forschungsgruppenleiter für das Thema Software Defined Radio. Seit 2009 hat er einen Lehrauftrag an der RWTH im Bereich Kanalcodierung und Modulation.
