Abstract

In this contribution we present a real-time demonstrator for binaural dereverberation. The algorithm is based on our recent paper "Model-Based Dereverberation Preserving Binaural Cues" published in the IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language processing (DOI: 10.1109/TASL.2010.2052156), a two-stage approach suitable for hearing aids with binaural link. In the demonstrator, binaural room impulse responses for the simulation of room acoustics as well as selected algorithm processing parameters can be modified during runtime. Based on the proposed demonstrator, a comparison of different bilateral and binaural dereverberation algorithms is possible to experience the benefit of binaural compared to bilateral processing.
