Recording for the Future Lab Gala
For the presentation of our cooperation project with the Aachen Symphony Orchestra at the Future Lab Gala on April 17, 2018, new 3D audio recordings with interactive 360 ° video were carried out in advance.
RWTH Orientation Day for Pupils
To give electrical engineering a face, we contributed to the RWTH program for pupils.

New Lecture "Machine Learning for Speech and Audio Processing"
In the summer term 2018 we offer a new lecture "Machine Learning for Speech and Audio Processing". In this first semester, the exam will be ungraded and is acknowledged as an additional qualification "BLO / ZUS". Then in 2019, it is planned to offer it as an elective module in the curriculum of the master study program.
Program for School Students | Kaiser-Karls-Gymnasium & Schule in Veldhofen
Pupils from the Kaiser-Karls-Gymnasium and a school in Veldhoven (Netherlands) were guests at our Institute to gain first insights into the world of work.
Visit of the Bernardinuscollege Heerlen
A total of 24 students from the Bernardinuscollege from Heerlen were guests at the Institute and actively took part in various offers.
On the occasion of the 70th birthday of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Vary a festive colloquium was held in the Institute of Communication Systems at RWTH Aachen University. This round-number anniversary was a great opportunity to look back on three decades in which Peter Vary was leading the institute with dedication and a great wealth of ideas.
A total of 21 students and staff of the IKS took the opportunity to visit the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE) in Wachtberg.

Winterterm 2017/2018 Block Seminar "Der Ingenieur als Manager"
The highly attractive block seminar "Der Ingenieur als Manager" from Dr.-Ing. Joachim Schläper has been continued in this winter term. Within a week, students of IK and TI learn about methods and procedures for self-analysis and self-management. This also prepares them for future management tasks in projects, teams and corporate hierarchies.
